New Life Recovery Project is totally self-supporting. We accept no money from the Federal, State, City government, or from any outside source. It is our firm belief that if our members are receiving public assistance, in the form of welfare or food stamps, it will keep them in a cycle of dependence that will hinder their recovery. You will rarely see a smile as wide as that on the face of a person who is finally supporting themselves. This of course does not include those with a legitimate disability. Since we expect our members to be self- supporting, it would be hypocritical of us not to be.
It is required that you stay at New Life for at least six months. This will provide you with a good foundation and help you maintain sobriety after you leave. It is not mandatory that you leave after six months. Several of our members needed to stay longer due to more than average problems when they came in.
The cost of a six month stay at New Life is $3800.00. This may be paid all at once, or if that is not possible, may be paid at the rate of the first two weeks at $100.00, and $150.00 per week in advance from then on. In some circumstances the fee may be paid daily at the rate of $30.00 per day, also in advance. There are no exceptions. Should you decide to leave prior to completing a six month stay, you must get authorization from your house manager, or a majority vote by the members of your house. If that step is not taken you will be billed for the entire six months.
The payment schedule is arranged to enable you to meet your present obligations and allow the balance of your pay to be saved to deal with past or future financial needs. These include; fines, back child support, restitution, buying a car, education, and moving from New Life to a house or apartment that you will be proud to call home.
These things are possible, and a good life awaits if you will only accept the guidance of someone who has gone before you.
